Elections 2007

Have you noticed that the Democrats in preparation for the US Midterm Elections due to be held on November 7th '06 have released their campaign agenda, which outlines six issues that they plan to address ie. national security, jobs & wages, energy, healthcare, retirement security and college access.

As campaigning for Kenya Elections '07 has already begun, shouldn't we start pushing the presidential contenders (wannabes) to identify the issues that shall form their campaign agendas? Compel them to take up positions on issues and develop strategies to support these issues. So that by mid '07, we can identify the agenda of each candidate & the roll-out plan for the agenda.

Somebody should take cue from Mzalendo and create a website that will monitor campaign agendas for Kenya's Election '07. Something akin to the Issues 2006: The Candidate's Briefing Book.

Upon voting in our next President on the strength of his agenda, we can then lobby to have Parliamentary Rules amended to foster transparency thereby allowing the public to see what steps our MPs have taken in furtherance of the election agendas.
